Heimir Bjarnason

Heimir made his first short film at the age of 10 and hasn’t stopped since. Upon graduating from Prague Film School in 2016, he started working in the Icelandic film industry.

Among his producing credits are feature films Redux and It Hatched. Upcoming projects include narrative comedy series Flamingo Bar and documentary feature film Dancing Lines.

Redux marked Heimir’s directorial feature debut. The film netted him two Edda Award nominations in 2023, for Best Director and Best Screenplay, making him the youngest person to achieve this feat.

Heimir is a notable editor and his resume includes projects like the Netflix comedy special Pardon My Icelandic, travel series Steinda Con and the award-winning documentary series Storm, an unprecedented behind-the-scenes view of the Covid-19 pandemic in Iceland.
